Airlines’ Cancellation Policies
Every airline has its own guidelines for flight cancellations that you must be aware of before requesting a cancellation. Here are some essential guidelines to make the flight cancellation process easier for customers.
24-Hour Free Cancellation Policy
Almost all airlines allow free cancellation of flights within the first 24 hours of booking.
Cancellation Due to Bad Weather Conditions
If an airline cancels a flight due to bad weather, passengers are eligible for a full refund.
Flight Cancelled by Airlines
If the airline cancels the flight for its own reasons, passengers will also receive a full refund. Additionally, airlines may offer the option to switch to another flight on the same day.
Court Order/Military Order
Passengers can cancel their flight with a court order or military order, provided they provide the necessary documents.
Severe Medical Condition and Serious Illness
In the case of a severe medical condition or serious illness, airlines allow cancellation of the flight with a full refund. This includes instances of serious illness or death.
The general rule is that upon presenting an original death certificate and a copy of the family’s book, a complete refund of the flight ticket will be granted in the event of the death of an immediate family member, which includes parents, children, spouse, or in-laws of the ticket holder.
To process your request, we recommend contacting the airline directly. If the ticket was issued by a Airline agency, please contact them.
Flight Delay of More Than 2-3 Hours
Passengers are eligible to request a flight cancellation if their flight has been delayed for more than 2-3 hours. Additionally, they may also book another flight on the same day without incurring additional charges.
Changes to Your Reservation
Changes to dates or flights can be made up to a maximum of 3 hours before the scheduled departure and are subject to fare terms (modifications may be made at no cost or may incur penalties).
